Hasen via the internet.  She was impressed by his website, feeling that the pre and post photos of his patients showed consistently good results that appeared natural.  After her initial consulation at Aesthetic Plastic Surgery of Naples, she was even more impressed with the office staff that cosmetic surgeon Dr. Hasen has put together to make every step of the process as enjoyable as possible.  Cosmetic breast surgeon Dr. Hasen discussed with the patient the risks and benefits of combining a circumareolar mastopexy at the same time as the silicone breast augmentation since her breasts were droopy pre-operatively.  Kent V. Hasen, M.D. was concerned that she would not be happy with the appearance of the low nipple-areolar complexes after the breast augmentation with silicone filled breast implants if some effort was not made to lift them.  The patient opted for subpectoral placement of the implants despite the available option to place silicone breast implants in a more superficial pocket like the subfascial or subglandular.  The patient was concerned with having a more noticeable implanted appearance if the implant was more superficial and chose to have more coverage of the silicone breast implant by the chest muscle in the superior aspect and near the center of her chest where the muscle inserts onto the sternum.  The patient knew the trade-off for this deeper positioning of the implant is motion of the implant and breast post-operatively when the muscle is contracted.  This may be mild, but in some cases it is very distressing to the patient and they later choose to exchange the implants to a more superficial plane.
